Augusta Museum

The Heritage Adventurers Chapter #1478 in Missouri chose the Augusta Historical Museum as their P & R Project. The brick house of August and Catherine Sehrt of Hannover, Germany, was built in 1861. They raised their ten children in  this small six-room building. The town of Augusta, Missouri, eventually acquired it and turned it into a museum. Two of the contributions by this chapter included a cherry display case and two period benches. These items were built by the men and women in the chapter in one member’s woodshop. The display case is 8 feet high, 6.5 feet wide, and almost 2 feet deep. It is being used to display historical items including military uniforms and a wedding dress. The benches are used by visitors during lectures at the museum.
